Restoring the Body's Natural Healing Power to Relieve Pain
Careful Listening + Powerful Techniques = Amazing Results
Connected Body Therapy is a powerful combination of "the best of the best" techniques that I have learned since I became a Massage Therapist in 2000, but it is not "just" a massage. In fact Connected Body Therapy doesn't really resemble a massage at all.
The first thing I do during each session is LISTEN. Listening is actually an assessment tool that allows me to narrow down exactly where in your body is having the hardest time handling things RIGHT NOW. Using my hands to detect lines of tension within the body, I am able to locate the precise area that is the most important to work. This tool is THE KEY to successful work.
Next, I treat in the area that the Listening led me to. The treatments I use vary based on the needs of the client at the time. Visceral Manipulation, Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release are some of my faves. You can check out more about these techniques on the next page. I am currently also offering Classical Homeopathy which is really useful for those not wanting to risk in-person appointments at this time.
One thing all the techniques I use have in common is that they are gentle, powerful, and most importantly, effective!
...because it's all connected
I'm fond of saying that "it's all connected." It was a founding principle that I was taught in my bodywork training, and that deep truth has proven itself time and again. Another way of saying the same thing is that "it's all one system." We are not a circulatory system and a nervous system and a digestive system. We are not psychological, emotional, social, spiritual. We are human beings with all these and many more intertwining aspects. Each affects the other, in ways that we can hardly understand.
That's why doing bodywork can get really complex. Trying to root out the cause of a symptom or condition rather than just chasing around the pain or discomfort can be overwhelming and confusing, even to a seasoned therapist. That's why I decided to learn to listen to the body, rather than to try to figure it all out! Listening techniques allow me to evaluate what the body is struggling the most with right now. Once I've listened, knowing what to do and where to it become simple. And because it's all connected, the listening often leads me to places distant from the symptom.
Listening is also a key component to the practice of Homeopathy. By spending the time needed to truly understand your particular situation, how a symptom manifests for you, how it affects you mentally, emotionally, and physically, and how your unique vital force responds to stress, I can better find the homeopathic remedy that will truly help you the most. Have you ever felt that some of your symptoms were connected but you couldn't get your doctor to validate your experience? Well, homeopathy takes these connections into account, and in fact finds them incredibly useful in picking the just right remedy for you.
If this idea of the interconnection of all things rings true for you, come on in and give my work a try. You might be surprised by how much the body can accomplish when it's treated gently and it feels deeply heard. Feel free to call me to connect on the phone as well. I'm happy to talk over your situation and see if it feels like a good fit.
